The shelf life of cannabis can be reduced by high moisture and water content, which can lead to mold growth over time. It’s therefore important to keep humidity to a minimum. However, it is also not recommended to allow weed to lose too much moisture, since that will affect its potency and taste.

How to store weed

When cannabis is exposed to excessive heat, it can start to dry out. It’s therefore best to store cannabis in a cool, dark place. If the relative humidity (RH) is below 65%, it helps prevent mold from growing, but if it drops any lower, the trichomes become brittle and the essential oils in the cannabis will start to dry out.
